Over 200 franchisors join 1001franchises.com in first month!

It has been an amazing launch and www.1001franchises.com is well on its way to becoming a very popular website. I have been working with my SEO team on the meta data and strategies that will enable us to aggressively grow organic search. In the next 30 days we will be adding industry pages, allowing visitors that do wish to view profile pages the ability to view franchise opportunities in a specific catergory. Just one of the many modifications planned prior to our public launch.

Today We Hit 100 Advertisers! Promotion Extended to First 250!

There's no doubt that 1001franchises.com is really catching on. Yesterday I kept on getting email notifications as franchisors registered for the site, requiring us to activate their ad on the home page. Thanks to the first 98 (as of right now) for understanding that being different is usually a good thing. I have received many great emails from our advertisers and members of the franchise community about the site and I appreciate your enthusiasm.

Due to the fact that getting to 100 advertisers has happened extremely fast, we have decided to extend our FREE Ad offer to the First 250 advertisers. Please help us recruit franchisors to the site and build our amazing home page of franchise opportunities.

The Selection Dilemma

It has been interesting to watch the placement of ads up until this point. Is there a better place to place your ad? Is it really across the top or left side edge? Or can an ad like Bounce U be in the perfect place. We can always look at the franchise list and see how many clicks ads are getting and use our best logic to determine why that is happening. Is it placement, design, color, familiarity with brand, or brilliant content in their mouse-over box? I think it is a combination of several factors.

1001franchises.com work's perfectly on an iPhone!

This afternoon I had to take my little boy Blake to the doctor (check-up) and I wanted to keep up with what was happening on the 1001franchises.com website. We had a variety of franchisors join today (thank you everyone) and I brought it up on my iPhone very easily. With a quick swipe of my fingers, I was in zoom mode and the logos look great. I was able to bring up the text boxes easily and I then I almost had an accident because I wasn't paying attention to the road (it wasn't that bad, really). I expect not to be the only person to visit www.1001franchises.com from an iPhone while driving (keep your eyes on the progress road).

Special Thanks to Arby's - You know what I'm thinking.

I would like to personally thank our first advertiser, Arby's who either must of realized the great vision of this website, or just figured that is was a deal they couldn't refuse. Speaking about Arby's, I still love their regular roast beef sandwiches with a heart squeeze (three packets) of BBQ Sauce and sometimes a little Horsey Sauce. I also want to thank the other 10 brands that have joined us on the home page of 1001franchises.com. They landed some very great placement and I am sure that it will make a difference in your click-through rates on the site. Over the next 30 days we will be aggressively recruiting franchisors to the site, until we have filled the home page of 1001franchises.com. I'm excited.

Attendance in the IFA 2009 Convention Postpones 1001franchises.com Launch.

As we raced to complete our quality control review of 1001franchises.com prior to the Annual IFA Convention in San Diego, it came clear that we had to hold off things for a week or so. The convention went great and we were able to catch up with friends and clients. Now that we are back, I am focused on all the little details of the site and plan to insure that 1001franchises.com functions precisely as planned and gives users the best experience possible. It is amazing how such a seemingly simple site can be so complex.

Welcome to 1001franchises.com and thank you for visiting our new site.

Welcome to 1001franchises.com and thank you for visiting our new site. Over the next 90 days we will be actively recruiting franchise companies to take advantage of our free offer to place the logo and link on the home page of 1001franchises.com for their first year 100% FREE. Launching a new advertising portal in franchising is not an easy task and without tons (and I mean tons) of franchisors logos on our home page, this concept will not fly. Therefore, I request (plea) that all franchise systems take advantage of our offer to have your logo and link on our home page for FREE. There is no obligation to maintain your ad after one year or pay anything, no gimmicks, no tricks, just the opportunity to get in on the ground floor for absolutely nothing.

What’s different about this site? The overall premise of the site is to give visitors a unique shopping experience and the ability to view all kinds of franchise concepts that they may otherwise overlook. As you will see for yourself, visitors will be clicking on home page banners out of curiosity and landing right on the franchisors website. No data collection on our side, you get visitors to your site via a direct link in your ad and we work hard to grow our numbers.

As part of our rollout and ongoing promotion of the 1001franchises.com, we have a detailed online marketing plan to drive franchise prospects to the site. The plan includes all forms of online marketing, taking advantage from social media and many of the emerging technologies. We will be sharing our plans with franchisors as we continue to grow the site and build visitor volume. Give me a year and I’ll give you many reasons to stay on the site. Don’t worry, year two will be inexpensive and worthwhile.
