There's no doubt that 1001franchises.com is really catching on. Yesterday I kept on getting email notifications as franchisors registered for the site, requiring us to activate their ad on the home page. Thanks to the first 98 (as of right now) for understanding that being different is usually a good thing. I have received many great emails from our advertisers and members of the franchise community about the site and I appreciate your enthusiasm.

The Selection Dilemma

It has been interesting to watch the placement of ads up until this point. Is there a better place to place your ad? Is it really across the top or left side edge? Or can an ad like Bounce U be in the perfect place. We can always look at the franchise list and see how many clicks ads are getting and use our best logic to determine why that is happening. Is it placement, design, color, familiarity with brand, or brilliant content in their mouse-over box? I think it is a combination of several factors.

This afternoon I had to take my little boy Blake to the doctor (check-up) and I wanted to keep up with what was happening on the 1001franchises.com website. We had a variety of franchisors join today (thank you everyone) and I brought it up on my iPhone very easily. With a quick swipe of my fingers, I was in zoom mode and the logos look great. I was able to bring up the text boxes easily and I then I almost had an accident because I wasn't paying attention to the road (it wasn't that bad, really). I expect not to be the only person to visit www.1001franchises.com from an iPhone while driving (keep your eyes on the progress road).

I would like to personally thank our first advertiser, Arby's who either must of realized the great vision of this website, or just figured that is was a deal they couldn't refuse. Speaking about Arby's, I still love their regular roast beef sandwiches with a heart squeeze (three packets) of BBQ Sauce and sometimes a little Horsey Sauce. I also want to thank the other 10 brands that have joined us on the home page of 1001franchises.com. They landed some very great placement and I am sure that it will make a difference in your click-through rates on the site. As we raced to complete our quality control review of 1001franchises.com prior to the Annual IFA Convention in San Diego, it came clear that we had to hold off things for a week or so. The convention went great and we were able to catch up with friends and clients. Now that we are back, I am focused on all the little details of the site and plan to insure that 1001franchises.com functions precisely as planned and gives users the best experience possible.
